The lighthouse of the Ile Vierge, off the coast of northern Finistère, is the highest in Europe, and even in the world, as it rises 82.50 metres above sea level. It was built in 1897, right next to the first one, which had insufficient range to mark this extremely dangerous area. If you have the courage to climb its 397 steps, you will have an exceptional panoramic view of the Abers and the coast of the shipwreckers, from the island of Batz to the island of Ouessant. The lighthouse has been classified as a Historic Monument in 2011.
