Brehat archipelago
Learn more about photography
The Ponant Islands consist of 15 islands along the French coast between the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. These islands, which are still inhabited, have joined forces to maintain an active island life. The word Ponant was used by the French Navy and comes from "couchant" (where the sun sets) in opposition to "levant" (used for the fleet of ships based in the Mediterranean). The main island and its 86 islets and reefs form this charming archipelago, which was the first natural site to be classified in 1907. Sail away on a voyage of discovery off the coast of Southern Brittany and welcome to the Flowers island. Hang the islands on your walls!
