The Molène Archipelago - The fisherman
Learn more about photography
The Ponant Islands consist of 15 islands along the French coast between the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. These islands, which are still inhabited, have joined forces to maintain an active island life. The word Ponant was used by the French Navy and comes from "couchant" (where the sun sets) in opposition to "levant" (used for the fleet of ships based in the Mediterranean). Welcome to Molène, in the Mer d'Iroise in Finistère. Looking out to sea, projecting your desires of adventure or simply scanning the horizon to keep an eye on the boats, this is the luxury of those who live on Molène. Hang the islands on your walls!
